Week 5: The neural tube (brain, spinal cord and other neural tissue of the central nervous system) forms.

  • The tiny “heart” tube will beat 110 times a minute by the end of the fifth week.
  • Week 6: Tiny buds that become arms and legs also develop.
  • At two months pregnant, your baby’s face continues its development.
  • Buds that will eventually be limbs begin to develop.
Organs such as 
  1. brain,
  2. sensory organs, 
  3. digestive tract begin to take shape.
  4. The cartilage in the embryo begins to be replaced by bone.
