  • You might have heard that vitamin D helps to lower the risk for multiple sclerosis (MS).
  • Or that it helps lessen symptoms in people who already have the disease.
  • Evidence suggests that getting enough of vitamin D might protect against MS by holding back  immune system from attacking  own nerve cells.
 
How does vitamin D deficiency cause heart disease?
 
Vitamin D deficiency is traditionally associated with bone and muscle weakness,
but in recent years number of studies have shown that low levels of  vitamin may predispose body to
  1. high blood pressure,
  2. congestive heart failure, 
  3. chronic blood vessel inflammation (associated with hardening of arteries).
