Aging causes neck pain

When you age, the cartilage fades away. 

  1. At the same time, the discs lose water and become narrow,
  2. adding more pressure to the joints.
  3. This pressure causes inflammation and can lead to back pain.

When spine pain is primarily in the neck, it could be due to cervical spondylosis (arthritis of the neck).

How to prevent neck pain in old age? 

  1. Practice good posture. 
  2. Adjust your sleep position. 
  3. Stay active. 
  4. Don’t carry heavy weight on your shoulders. 
  5. Exercise your upper back extensor muscles.
