Food that contains vitamin D

 The flesh of fatty fish such as

  1. trout,
  2. salmon,
  3. tuna, 
  4. mackerel,
  5. fish liver oils are among the best sources.

Animal’s diet affects  amount of vitamin D in its tissues.

  • Beef liver,
  • egg yolks,
  • cheese have small amounts of vitamin D,
  • primarily in  form of vitamin D3 and its metabolite 25(OH)D3.
