Is Olive oil rich in Antibacterial Properties?

 chemical composition of olive leaf extracts conditioned the antimicrobial effects observed. 

The high content of oleuropein and the other phenolic compounds identified in  extract might contribute for its antimicrobial properties.

There is evidence to support  fact that olive oils with a high polyphenol content (e.g. Extra Virgin Olive Oil) can inhibit  growth of pathogenic bacteria.
