What is role of AMH in Fertility?

AMH is supposed to regulate the number of growing follicles.

their selection for ovulation and is a negative regulator of early stages of the follicular development .

AMH inhibits the recruitment and growth of follicles by restricting growth factors and the effect of gonadotropins.

The level of AMH in  blood can help doctors estimate the number of follicles inside the ovaries, and therefore, the woman’s egg count.

A typical AMH level for a fertile woman is 1.0–4.0 ng/ml; under 1.0 ng/ml is considered low and indicative of a diminished ovarian reserve.
