DIET PLAN FOR FATTY LIVER

FOODS ALLOWED TO TAKE:

VEGETABLES- carrots, beetroot, pumpkin, spinach, mustard greens, dandelion greens, chicory, broccoli, cabbage, sweet potatoes, kale, onion, fresh green beans, tomatoes, green peas, potatoes, winter squash, asparagus, lettuce, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, round gourd, ridge gourd, red and green bell pepper, green leafy vegetables.

FRUITS- all fruits to be taken that are enriched in more fiber content (to prefer the whole fruit rather than juice).

PULSES- home coked pulses ad lentils.

MILK PRODUCTS- plant-based milk like tofu and soymilk.

DRY FRUITS AND SEEDS- chia seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, almonds (should be soaked overnight in limited quantity).

CEREALS- whole wheat, brown rice, millets, quinoa, soybean, oats, buckwheat.

FATS/OIL- olive oil, canola oil, rice brain oil, mustard oil, soybean oil, cow ghee

SPICES– fennel, turmeric, cumin, coriander, rock salt (limited quantity), cardamom, fenugreek, ginger, black pepper.

FLESH FOODS/NON-VEG- 1 egg white, homemade chicken soup (shredded)

OTHER FOODS- fresh homemade green tea without lemon, homemade vegetarian soups, veg poha, veg idli, veg upma, wheat porridge, veg vermicelli, gram flour pancake, coconut water, beetroot juice, pomegranate juice, barley water, sprouts.

 

FOODS TO AVOID

VEGETABLES- canned vegetables and vegetable soups, yam, taro roots, jackfruit, dried beans, eggplant, cauliflower.

FRUITS- coconut, mango, banana, sapodilla, dates, all frozen and canned fruits and juices.

PULSES- frozen pulses

MILK PRODUCTS- dairy milk and its products.

DRY FRUITS AND SEEDS- cashew nuts, pistachio, peanuts, raisins, flax seeds.

CEREALS- corn flour, refined flour and its products.

FATS/OIL- over-saturated fats, hydrogenated oil, palm oil, coconut oil.

SPICES- thyme, cinnamon (table salt to be taken in very low quantity. If needed).

FLESH FOODS/ NON-VEG- all other non-vegetarian.

OTHER FOODS- packaged, processed, fried and bakery products, spicy food, high fat food, chocolates, sauces, soda, fruit jellies, jams, refined sugar, ice-cream, pickle, coffee.
